// Crushing On // Light Wood + Marble Kitchens

April 6, 2016

Good morning – Rise and shine! Today I am getting MAJOR inspiration from these purdy kitchens below. There is nothing better than a light and bright kitchen in my eyes. Soon I’ll be moving into a bit of a fixer upper, so I’m thinking of going down the marble & white oak road… What do you think? Major YAY or No-to-the-NAY?

  1. Marble is always a good idea. Light oak cabinets can look awesome but only if it’s combined with the right kind of floor (for instance portuguese tiles, travertine or limestone).I personally would not go for light oak floors AND light oak cabinets. You’ll miss the contrast to make things look interesting. In the third picture I would have picked a wooden floor OR a wooden ceiling. And it would bother me that they face different directions. I know your kitchen will look amazing. All your designs always do!

  2. I just finished a kitchen with white oak floors and white cabinets with white quartzite. It is an amazing combo. Go for it!
