So I have said it before, and now I am saying it again….WE ARE HIRING!!

We are growing at a pretty rapid pace, and I am looking forward to growing my team by hiring some really kick ass people to help make work life just that much more awesome.

I am looking for a super-talented, design-obsessed candidate to come kick it with my girl gang Monday-Friday at our Calabasas office!! I kinda require a lot of calm and positive energy when we are working in some intense fast paced situations – so if you can get a stressful task done and not break down or whine about how stressed you are,  then that is just the kinda person I am hiring. And by “I” I really mean WE because its all about the team effort around here.

Let’s talk about what you’ll be doing on the daily… Read through the job description below and if it sounds like something you’d absolutely kick-butt at – then I want to hear from you… Duh!

This person must…

// Have at least 1-2 years of in-the-field, design experience. If you have a design degree or certificate, then AMAZING – but I’m more so looking for someone with industry experience.

// Be well-versed with Adobe Photoshop, Auto CAD, Studio Designer, Pinterest, and Excel. As always, if you can use a 3D rendering program, then it’s a major – but not required

// Have great communication skills to communicate back and forth with vendors, contractors, clients, etc.

// Be attentive to details, highly organized with the ability to multi-task. One hundred hats is what you will wear!

// Knowledge of design principles is vital, working knowledge of construction methods is helpful.

// Must be highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding creative environment and has a strong sense of urgency, organization and follow-through.

On a daily basis you’ll…

Provide design, clerical and administrative support to team.

Manage and organize our crazy sample library.

Preparing, managing and maintaining all project binders, files, correspondence, drawings, etc.

Order material samples from vendors and put together custom furniture orders.

Assist with entering items into Studio Designer and creating proposals for clients.

Assist with the entirety of the ordering process – follow-up and updates are key.

Provide assistance in the creation of preliminary plans and design concepts.

Assist throughout the design process with floor plans, elevations and construction document sets.

Assist team wth the creation of client mood boards and presentations.

Assist with installations, coordinate deliveries and handle post installation returns.

You must have a reliable car, live in LA, you must be an amazing note taker, and you MUST have a good attitude.  I like to surround myself with positive and creative people.

In your resume please include anything that is relevant to YOUR design and style. If you have a blog, send a link. Same with Instagram, Twitter feed, Pinterest… whatever you want me to see to show me who you are!

If you are currently still enrolled in school you can send me some of your school projects, as long as you feel like they truly define your style and who you want to be as a designer. If you know Photoshop (which you will need to know to qualify for this position) make me a mood board showing me your dream interior… Do something to stand out! Being professional is great, but I am a personable person, so the person I hire must ALSO be personable!

JOB TYPE: Full Time, 9am-6pm (sometimes later, you gotta hustle!!)

JOB LOCATION: Calabasas, California

 SALARY LEVEL: depends on experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Interior Design, 1-2 Years

Can’t wait to see what talent comes my way –

****Insider Tip….all of this right  !! ****

  1. If you end up adding to the team do you think you’d be able to go back to blogging more frequently?

Over the Fourth of July I went back to the beergarota post from YEARS ago (still a go-to recipe when I’m hosting a barbecue) and it made me realize how much I miss the old content. The before and afters are great, totally beautiful homes that are a great source of inspiration. But I miss some of the old posts that gave a view into your ideas, the design process real-time and your life more generally.

I think all of the changes to Znay could be a great source of content – I would be interested in reading what it’s like scaling up your design business, how the new employees are decorating their personal spaces, what life’s like when you’re juggling projects on both coasts (and at your current trajectory, probably worldwide soon enough!)
